Patterns

This is a display of all the regular patterns I have made. I never really thought that I was someone who would like patterns so much. through my process of working with patterns I have learned so much about art, design and the tools used to make designs.

“SNow GOOSE”

This project is near and dear to my heart. Recently I moved 30 miles west of my old house. The 30 miles makes a big difference. There is a type of goose that migrates here (my new house), called a snow goose, it is a mix of goose and duck. For some reason I really love these birds and I had no idea they were only thirty miles away from where I used to live. So I commemorated this years migration with this snow goose pattern.

SUN

I revisited the monkey wrench pattern ( Please reference the pattern below this).I cleaned up the pattern and changed and edited some features. I have had a really good time working on this specific pattern.

“SUN”

In quilt making this pattern is closely related to the Monkey wrench pattern. This pattern has been adjusted and edited so the monkey wrench pattern has been covered up a little.

StingRays

In pattern design this is considered a Plane group. This pattern is made up of interlocking stingrays. I also played off the word gray in: “Stin-gray” obviously this is not a phonetic breakdown of the work stingray but I made it work.

“MaZE”

This pattern is also considered a plane group. Tis patten is pretty simple and you can see I really like it be cause it is allover the place on my website.

“Lines”

This pattern was one of the more interesting patterns I have made. This one really plays with my mind. There is not too much to say about this other than it was very fun to make.

“HammerHeads”

This pattern is a little more open formed. The main focus was on the hammerheads linking together. This is more of a lattice design. I enjoy the challenge of interlocking elements in a pattern. At the time I made this I was also happy with the custom color palette I used to make this.

“infinite”

While most patterns can have up to 17 variations this pattern takes the cake for me. The over all look of this may give you a headache, but there are so many different combinations this patterns basic unit is capable of.

“Southwest”

This pattern humbled me. I really enjoyed the process of of making this pattern. The construction of this pattern allows for a lot of variations. I played around a lot with this pattern and I realized that the coloring of this design can really change it’s over-all look.

Monkey Wrench 2

This is the same pattern as the first pattern this is just a little more simplified and is broken up more in color.

Dr. Sues

I hope this isn’t a copyright issue with this patterns name. I really enjoyed making this pattern. I made it while I was at Montclair State University. I used this pattern as a background for a social media post. I call this pattern Dr. Sues because the birds with their circle stomachs and closed eyes look something taken from a dr. sues book.

Ducks.png

“Ducks V-1”

This is one of my favorite patterns I have made. This is a plane group type of pattern. The two colors I used in this do not make it very clear what this is. This is an interlocking duck pattern. In the pattern below I have a color adjusted version of this that hopefully makes each duck stand out a little more.

This was created with a blue green & Yellow orange palette.

“Ducks V-2”

This is the same exact pattern as the pattern above. In this pattern is changed up the colors vibrancy and tone.
